North Korea's young president, Kim Jong-un, won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for his
efforts to end the Korean War and bring a lasting peace to the Korean Peninsula. The result
of more than a year of intensive negotiations, the government of the two sister nations
were finally able to carve out a peace treaty and have reportedly begun discussing re-
unification under what has been described as a "one nation, two-system solution". Born in
North Korea and educated in Switzerland, Jong-un cites his overseas education and exposure
to the west as the driving force behind his desire to see the reconciliation of the two nations.
North and South have been divided for nearly 70 years, and for his efforts Kim Jong
-un is being hailed as "The Great Unifier".
